The Steps you will take to become a Surrogate Mom |
- Inform us which type of surrogacy you are interested in. Then we will send you a questionnaire to fill out and a release form. Once we have received these items we will set up a time for a phone interview.
- We will then present your profile to couples currently in the Koru agency looking for a surrogate mom. If we do not have a “right” match for you in our agency we will then advertise for you trying to find you the match you desire for your own family’s dreams.
- We will set up initial phone conference and in person meetings between you and your potential intended parents.
- Some reproductive endocrinologist (RE) require intended parents, surrogate moms, and if applicable surrogate’s partner to meet with a psychologist. Along with the psychological interview surrogate moms will usually be required to take the MMPI, which is a 500 question, psychological assessment test. Surrogate moms will also have blood-work done to test for sexually transmitted diseases (STD), HIV, and basic labs to make sure your body is pregnancy ready.
- After your blood-work and psychological evaluation you will then meet with the reproductive endocrinologist (RE) and begin the surrogacy journey. We will make sure you are represented by a lawyer that has some gestational surrogacy experience for your contract negotiations in which we provide your agreed upon fees to both your lawyer and the intended parents (IP) lawyer to help make contracts go quickly and smoothly.
- Once contracts are signed you will then receive your protocol and calendar of your (IVF) in-vitro fertilization transfer. We make sure you understand your medical instructions and medications.
