Koru Surrogacy & Beyond has been in the making for over 9 years. But until the time was right the dream of opening Koru remained but a dream. Koru was founded to provide a family oriented atmosphere for all our surrogates, egg donors, and intended parents. We offer a dedicated matching service to all our clients.

Koru Surrogacy & Beyond was founded by Katy Melo who oversees all matching process. Katy has over 9 years of experience in the surrogacy/egg donor world. She is responsible for making sure each surrogate, egg donor, and intended parents is educated on the processes and procedures of their journey to come.


Katy has been a gestational surrogate mom twice for the same family blessing them with two beautiful daughters, the first was born Feb 12 2004 and the second on Oct 8th 2005. She has also been an egg donor five times. Katy is a known egg donor helping bring eight children into four different families as a result of her donations. She receives photos and updates of the children throughout the year. Katy is also the proud mother of four boys who are also overjoyed to be helping people to become parents.


Koru Surrogacy & Beyond’s hours of operation are 9-5 Monday through Friday for all potential parties. If matching process occurs outside of these hours we are available to all our clients to answer any questions they may have.

Koru Surrogacy & Beyond is proud to work closely with Texas Attorney.. Lauren Gaydos Duffer. Mrs. Duffer is an attorney licensed to practice law in the State of Texas with a private practice. Lauren was raised in Arlington, Texas and is a graudate of James W Martin High School.  Lauren received her B.A. in Speech Communication from Baylor University in Waco, Texas and received her J. D. from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
      Lauren has a passion for helping families and her practice focuses on assisted reproductive technology (traditional surrogacy, gestational surrogate, and egg donation), adoption, family, and collaborative law. Lauren has been honored to work with Intended Parents across the world and has drafted, reviewed, and validated contracts on behalf of many Intended Parents. Katy represented Koru Surrogacy & Beyond on May 23, 2006 on a LIVE Radio talk show that aired from 2 to 3 pm EST on WSAR 1480 AM, Fall River MA. The show covered Surrogacy today.

Katy represented Koru Surrogacy & Beyond in the CONCEIVE magazine July 2006.

Katy was interviewed for the St Louis Newspaper the day of her 5th Egg Donation retrieval on July 9th 2006.
